Walter and Terri Smith are 6th generation farmers, 2nd generation seed growers and 1st generation seed plant operators. After growing the first pedigreed seed crop on a ¼ section in 2010, Smith Family Seeds was formed in 2012. With encouragement from John Smith and upon the news of long time family friend, employer and seed cleaner Wally Smith from Crystal City was retiring and selling his plant, plans began to build a seed plant. With the help of neighbor Jason Mclean a yardsite on SE13-3-11 with highway access was developed into a seed plant yard and started cleaning seed in the spring of 2014.
We enjoy working with the diverse people within the ag community and are always striving to help our customers succeed.
